St Vincent House, Gosport recently opened their doors to the local community as the home celebrated its annual summer garden party.
Unfortunately, due to the great British weather, most of this event had to be held inside, but that did not dampen people’s spirits.
Guests, residents and staff enjoyed a plethora or activities and entertainment. Including but not exclusive to, a visit from the lord mayor; live music from the Elson Warblers, The Gosport Shedders – a local ukulele band, and Johnny on the bagpipes – our Scottish resident was in her element! And they guessed the weight of a large cake, made by Emma, one of our senior carers, who also made delicious cupcakes for the cake sale, which sold out in no time!
As well as all that we welcomed in Gemma, a local PCSO, who allowed the many children who attended our delightful afternoon the chance to sit in the police car.
Thank you to all those who supported us on the day, to the staff that gave up their time off to help out, and to those who donated to the raffle. We raised a fabulous £350 for our residents’ fund.
